2  Multiple factors, include Interleukin-1 gene polymorphisms, Helicobacter pylori infection, and endocrines, are thought to be related to gastric disorders.  As the diversity of etiologies, the research in this domain is multidisciplinary. 3 2008 American Medical Informatics Association Spring Congress Clinical Research  Model of Gastric Cancer  Intestinal type: chronic gastritis -> chronic atrophic gastritis -> intestinal metaplasia -> dysplasia -> cancer  Diffuse type: chronic gastritis -> cancer  Inflammation is the key to the development of gastric cancer.  Interleukin (IL) 1 β plays an important role in initiating and amplifying the inflammatory response to H. pylori infection.  Materials and Methods  Histological finding from biopsy specimens  Helicobacter pylori  Updated Sydney System (diagnosis)  Expression of IL-1β Receptor (immunoreactive score)  DNA from Peripheral Blood Samples  IL-1 Polymorphisms (IL-1B-31, IL-1B- 511, IL-1RN)  Result of Clinical Research  Gender and age differences exist in gastric inflammation after H. pylori infection.
