© British Council 2014 Weddings in the UK Many weddings in the UK are in a church. The man wears a suit and the woman wears a white dress. After going to church people have some food and drinks. There is always a big cake! After the food there is a party where everyone dances and has a good time! Weddings are one day. After the wedding the couple go on holiday. Weddings can cost more than £20,000. Sometimes the parents pay, sometimes the couple. Many people have a wedding but not everyone. Some people live together but are not married.
