Definition of Slope Slope is the steepness of a line. The number that represents the slope is found by the difference in the y-values divided by the difference in the x-values.
4
To find the slope of the line segment between the two points, you need the rise divided by the run 5 units Run Rise 3 units
5
The formula to find the slope of the line segment between the two points is = 6 - 1 4 - 1 = 5 3 (4,6) (1,1)
6
What is the slope of this segment? Run Rise Rise -8 Run 9 =
7
What is the slope of the segment between these two points? (-3,-3) (2,2)(2,2) = 2 – (-3) = 5 5 =1
