Order of Operations Order of Operations are the steps you follow in order to solve a problem. For example, PEMDAS is our order of operations and it means to put these things from first to last in a problem. Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, then Subtraction. That is what Order of Operations is.

Reciprocals Next, I will tell you what a reciprocal is. A reciprocal is a fraction flipped over. For example, the reciprocal of 5/6 would be 6/5. The reciprocal of 8/7 would be 7/8. That is what a reciprocal is.

Tree Diagrams Lastly, I will show you what a tree diagram is. A tree diagram is a diagram which helps you figure out a problem. For example, this is what a tree diagram looks like: 60 30 15 10 It pretty much helps you break up a number to find its smallest simplification.

What was your favorite activity? My favorite activity was when we worked on cross multiplication. I really liked this subject because it was pretty simple and it was fun. That is what my favorite activity was in math.

What Went Well for you This Quarter? What went well for me this quarter was math tests, and trying my best. At the beginning of the quarter, I wasn’t doing so well but I pulled it together and by the end of the quarter I was doing much better. That is what went well for me this quarter.

What do you Still Need to Work On? What I still need to work on is participating more. Sometimes I get nervous to participate because I don’t understand a concept when he calls on me, so I think that I need to participate more and ask him questions when I don’t understand something.

Math Goal for Next Year My math goal for next year would be to study harder for my tests. I have chosen this goal because I feel like I don’t study long or hard enough for my tests, and the consequence for that is to get a bad grade. I want a good grade in math, so next year I am really going to take my time on studying and make sure I get the best grade possible on my tests.
