2  LT: I will be able to calculate components of vectors  Test corrections are due by Friday!!!  Stamp and Go over Homework  Finish Labs--vectors  Vector notes-Finish My vectors  Finish and stamp Vector worksheet  Sign up for getting the online book and quizzes  Homework: Projectile Motion: Read through pg 58-61 and take notes, especially concentrate on the problem solving box on pg. 60. Then in your notebook work through example 3-5 and write any questions you have. There will be a quiz next time on the concepts from this section and vectors.

3  Net displacement  “neglecting air resistance”

4 1. A quantity such as velocity, which has direction as well as magnitude is called_____________. 2. When using the tail to tip method, the arrow drawn from the tail of one vector and the tip of another is called the_____________________. 3. A vector can be expressed as the sum of two other vectors called the __________________

5  Explain when car A’s velocity is not the same as car B if they both are going 40 km/hr.  Velocity is a vector quantity, with a magnitude and direction. If two vectors have different directions, they cannot be equal. Therefore if one was going east and the other North t hey would not be equal.  Is the resultant vector necessarily greater than the V1 or V2? Explain why or why not. V is the magnitude of the vector it is not necessarily larger than the magnitudes of V1 and V2. For instance, if V1 and V2 have the same magnitude and are in opposite directions, then V is zero. The magnitude of the sum is determined by the angle between the two contributing vectors.
