What is a hybrid car? A hybrid car is a vehicle that basically has two engines or two sources of power. It also has a special system for capturing braking energy and storing it in a battery. The typical hybrid that is common to day is the hybrid between a gas and electric engine. Some other examples are: Air and internal combustion engines, a rechargeable energy source /battery, liquid nitrogen, solar, or human power.

The need for hybrids. They are also one of the solutions for solving the oil problems, and some of the global warming problems.

Cons They are expensive. Complex systems that are needed.
Higher repair bills. They are less useful over continuous high speed driving. The possibility of a shortage of a raw material called dysprosium that is required in electric motors and battery systems.
