What is it and how is it used? A database report is an object used to organize, group, and summarize some or all of the data from one or more database tables or queries. Reports allow data to be presented in an attractive format with user selected fonts, colors, shading, borders, and graphics. Advantages of Reports Data from multiple tables can be grouped Calculations can be performed on data Headings, borders, and other enhancements can be added Reports can be saved and updated Reports can be printed in landscape or portrait orientation. 5.02 Understand database queries, forms, and reports.Slide 3

Report Headers 5.02 Understand database queries, forms, and reports.Slide 4 Page Header – usually contains column headings; appears at the top of each page of the report Group Header – lists the fields in which the data is grouped. In this example, two pages have been grouped together and although not shown here, the data is grouped by store number. Report Header – usually contains images and titles

Report Footers Group footers – used to display sums, counts, or averages for a group of data Page footers – used to display page numbers and dates 5.02 Understand database queries, forms, and reports.Slide 6
