2 New Accounts Introduction Who needs a new account? Account types: –ePanther –Schools of Enderis (SOE) Network Requesting/preparing for new account(s).

3 New Accounts Introduction What is included with my new Schools of Enderis (SOE) network account? Your first logon

Who needs a new account? Any Schools of Enderis (SOE) employee who needs access to computers in Enderis Hall (excludes Labs) / Merrill Hall / Pavilion Ad Hoc Instructors, Faculty, GA, LTE, Staff, Student Employees 4

Account Types ePanther Account - D2L, pantherLINK, pantherFile, and other campus systems (managed by UITS) Schools of Enderis (SOE) Account - access computers, network drives/printers in Enderis / Merrill / Pavilion (managed by BATO IT) 5

Requesting/preparing for new account(s) The most important step in requesting/preparing for new accounts is to plan ahead whenever possible It is very rare that new UWM employees can get an ePanther (e- mail, etc) account setup for them the same day they start employment 6

Requesting/preparing for new account(s) – cont. This does not apply to current university employees who transfer over to CHS, HBSSW and SOE. Schools of Enderis (SOE) network accounts are managed by BATO IT and can be created within a business day, perhaps earlier depending on staff workload. 7

Requesting/preparing for new account(s) - ePanther Account New employees who fill out necessary employment paperwork through their HR department, will get an ePanther account created by UITS in about a week’s time. To check the status of, or to activate the account, employees can visit: https://www- ssl.uwm.edu/uits/ePanther/aa/ https://www- ssl.uwm.edu/uits/ePanther/aa/ 8

Requesting/preparing for new account(s) - ePanther Acct. cont. New Employees who cannot fill out paperwork ahead of employment start time can contact BATO IT to request an ePanther account. BATO IT will securely collect employee’s personal information (Full Name/SS#/DOB) to send to UITS for employee verification 9

Requesting/preparing for new account(s) - ePanther Acct. cont. BATO IT will send the request to UITS, account creation normally takes anywhere from 1 – 3 business days (perhaps longer during busier times). Once UITS informs BATO IT that the account is complete, ePanther account information will be sent to requestor by BATO IT with login instructions 10

Requesting/preparing for new account(s) – SOE Account Schools of Enderis employee’s need an active ePanther account before being granted a SOE account. SOE account requests can be sent to BATO IT, account creation normally takes 1 -3 business hours. Once complete, account information will be sent to requestor with login instructions 11

What is included with my new SOE account? FTE/LTE- Access to U drive, School Shared Drive, Network Printers, Computer Access Part Time Employees- School Shared Drive, Network Printers, Computer Access 12

What is included with my new SOE account? – cont. U: Drive – Personal drive space for full- time employees (1 GB of space), only individual employee has access to this space. 13

What is included with my new SOE account? – cont. School Shared Drives –CHS J: Drive –HBSSW J: Drive –SOE S: Drive Access to individual shared folders on each drive must be granted by folder manager 14

What is included with my new SOE account? – cont. Network Printers- Network printer access varies by department(s). –Lanier Copier/Printer access driven by department code –Department black/white printer access added through network –Department color printer (access must be granted by department) 15

First time SOE login When accounts are completed, BATO IT will send account information to requestor. Use this information to log in –Username: (same as ePanther) –*Password: generic, usually milwaukee (lower case) *User prompted to change password after first log in 16

First time SOE login – cont. When prompted to change your password, you will enter a new personal password that will be used from that point forward. 17
