The Aims of the Workshop: To prepare lead trainers for national Q-Placements workshops Enhancing both training approach and content for ensuring the quality of Work Placements for two target groups: VET providers and company representatives

The Outcomes of the Workshop: Trained tutors from VET and from Host companies Draft structure, content and training methodology for the national workshop

Terminology See Q-Placement Handbook 6.1. Glossary (p.145-147) VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (VET): Theoretical and practical training that provides students with the skills and competences they need to exercise a profession TRAINEE: a student who is learning and practising the skills of a particular job. A person undergoing training in occupational skills WORKPLACE TRAINING: A placement in a company done by vocational training students in addition to the training they do in their school as part of their training period.

INITIAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (IVET): preparation of people with skill and/or competences to gain entry into a specific occupation or sector SCHOOL TUTOR: IVET school teacher who coordinates placements for IVET students COMPANY TUTOR: The person appointed to guide, train and assess the trainee during the workplace training in the host company.
