Suggested Strategies 1. Provide incentives Chance to go to NYC for the next rounds (April 29 th ) Euro Challenge awards, including cash prizes provided by Moody’s, certificates Grade Credit 2. Recruit alternates 8-10 students Mixed grades (9 th and 10 th graders) 9 th graders can participate a second year

Create a notebook of assignments Examples: Identify research that needs to be done Go to www.euro-challenge.orgwww.euro-challenge.org Download 2 articles from the “European Economy and the Euro” section Write a 2 paragraph summary to be discussed a next meeting Do the interactive exercises available on the Euro Challenge website Draft scenarios of presentation format

7. Drills Practice presentations Role play Examples Drill I: Cell phone usage should be banned in all school and work environments. How would this policy impact various age groups 6-12 year olds, 13-18 year olds, and 18+ year olds. Drill II: Students A & B are presenting information on the current economic situation in the EU Student C, D and E pretend to be students asking question regarding information presented

8. Roasts Different audiences pose questions to students regarding their presentation 9. Use the website forum to ask questions, exchange ideas. 10. Have students set up a chat group to prepare and practice virtually
