Why are we blogging? To develop another way of communicating on the Internet. To learn to use a new and growing communication technology To practice communicating clearly and effectively on the net.

Legal/Ethical Issues Do not mention names of individuals who are not public personalities. Do not attack other people. Intellectual property rights must be strictly observed. Employ logical reasoning... don’t resort to fallacious argumentation. argument tactics. Avoid questionable and biased sources. Publish only what you believe to be true. Don’t repeat rumors. Link to any online sources used. Disclose any conflicts of interest.

Get Started with Your Blog Use a web browser to navigate to your blog and log in. Immediately change your password... everybody in this room knows it. Create a category... at least one. Add an entry to your category. Customize your blog. Change the title, etc. Now you’re ready to explore. Add comments to at least two other students’ blog entries. Have fun!

Evaluating Blogs Regular postings? Quality synthesis of information? Quality analysis? Effective blog entry (concise, well worded, well formatted, correct spelling!)? Proper netiquette followed Appropriate response to comments
