It is known that acetylene black carbon is a novel kind of mesoporous carbon it is characterized by the highest degree of aggregation and crystallization orientation when compared with all types of carbon black. It has high conductivity and steady chemical performance. Introduction
4
Materials Aniline APS Benzoyl peroxide (BPO) Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) Sulfuric acid acetylene black (AB)
5
Experimental In the aqueous polymerization pathway, 1.52 g of sodium lauryl sulfate was dissolved in 100 ml of 1 M aq. H 2 SO 4 solution. Particular amount of acetylene black (AB) was added to the above solution and stirred the mixture for 1 h. 1 ml of aniline was added in to the above reaction mixture and stirred for 1 h. The reaction mixture was stirred for 24 h at ambient temperature and then the resulting reaction mixture was poured in 250 ml acetone. Ammonium persulfate (2.44 g) was dissolved in 100 ml aq. 1 M H 2 SO 4 solution and this solution was added to the above reaction mixture containing acetylene black. PANI–AB synthesis by aqueous polymerization pathway The precipitate was filtered, washed with an ample amount of water, finally with 250 ml of acetone. The powder sample was dried at 50 ℃ till a constant weight.

Experimental In the emulsion polymerization pathway, 1.52 g of sodium lauryl sulfate was dissolved in 150 ml of 1 M aq. Benzoyl peroxide (3 g) was dissolved in 50 ml of chloroform and then added in to the above reaction mixture containing acetylene black. PANI–AB synthesis by emulsion polymerization pathway The precipitate was filtered, washed with an ample amount of water finally with 250 ml of acetone. The powder sample was dried at 50 ℃ till a constant weight.

Fig. 1. FT-IR spectra of (a) AB (b) PANI and (c) PANI–AB-4. Results and discussion It shows major characteristic peaks at 3440, 1570, 1470, 1300, 1250, 1110, 1160 and 875 cm −1, which are similar to the standard PANI reported in the literature. The peak obtained at 1650 cm −1 is due to the stretching of sulfonate (S =O) group of DHS.

Polyaniline salt chain containing dual dopants, i.e. one long chain (dodecylhydrogen sulfate) and another small molecule (sulfuric acid), in excellent yield and reasonably good conductivity was successfully synthesized. Composites of polyaniline salt with acetylene black were synthesized in direct one step via aqueous/ emulsion polymerization pathway. Conclusions
