5 AHC’s Investment  $500,000 in-kind contributions including donation of space, utilities, maintenance and cleaning costs  $330,000 annual contribution  “Forgiveness” of overhead costs  Infrastructure/support— fundraising, public relations, human resources, accounting

6 AHC Residents  More than 60% of the families receive government rent subsidies, qualifying them as very low-income, and the remaining 40% are considered low-income.  All of the families earn 60% or less of Area Median Income.  41% of the children and youth live in single- parent households.  Another 6% live with foster parents, grandparents or an adult other than a mother or father.  94% are eligible for free or reduced lunch.  83% of the children’s parents or guardians never finished college, including many who never finished high school.  Nearly 80% of the families speak a language other than English in their home and 20% of the children were born in another country.  AHC’s residents hail from more than 20 countries and speak 15 languages at home.

9 Impact of Resident Services  Centers serve 2,500 individuals each year.  Staff work intensely with 160 youth 2 to 5 times each week, year-round.  Last year, 136 of these youth achieved significant academic progress and/or achievement.  141 the prior year  100% of our high school seniors, 32, graduated since 2008; 0 dropped out.
