What We Are About Student lead, leadership, wellness, self-confidence, and self-discipline course, building better American Citizens with 135 students enrolled. We are an award winning, community focused, group that has earned the dignity and respect of many high schools and teachers across the South.

2011-2012 Unit Goals Cadet Goals Build a “good to great" AFJROTC program. Establish jobs for all ASII, ASIII and ASIV cadets - where everyone has a leadership position and takes responsibility for their part. Have 15% of ASII, ASIII, and ASIV cadets achieve "state standard" of 21 on the ACT test or higher (last year achieved 10%). School Goals Maintain a 50% ASI retention rate for the ASII course - at least half of the first year cadet’s return. Drill team perform an exhibition drill routine at school basketball games for half time, this will aid in recruiting to a wider audience. Community Goals Establish a better community service program within AFJROTC supporting the West, TN, area. Perform at 3 parades in the West Tenn. area taking at least 50 cadets to each event.

Cadet Accomplishments Air Force Distinguished Unit - since 2009 Air Force Association of Tennessee’s Outstanding AFJROTC Unit of the Year - 2010 RIFA Food Kitchen Community Projects This year amassed over 2,400 hours of community service Four Competitions - won 23 trophies; 19 are 1st Place Provided academic tutoring for struggling cadets Initiated Air Force JROTC Honor Roll program Started JROTC Academic Bowl Team

Cadets in Action Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville Madison County Mayor Swearing In Best in State Award from AFA Director Color Guard with Chamber of Commerce and Panera Bread Grand Opening Annual Military Ball and Awards Banquet Color Guard for the NAIA Women’s Basketball Tournament

Cadets in Action RIFA Soup Kitchen Volunteers Veterans Days Program – North Side Assembly of God Church Lane College Homecoming Parade - 2011 Color Guard at Jackson Symphony Veterans Day Salute Led school-wide RIFA Food Drive Collected 1,600 pounds of food Winner at the Best of the South Regional Drill Competition - 2012

Community Service RIFA Soup Kitchen - helped fed the homeless Led school-wide canned food drive - collected 1,600 pounds of food for RIFA Sponsoring two $100 fundraisers for Relay for Life Color Guard at County Court House for Madison County Mayor’s Swearing In Color Guard for opening ceremonies of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women’s Basketball Tournament Marched Annual Lane College Homecoming Parade - approx 80 cadets Color Guard for Jackson Junior Symphony Orchestra’s Salute to Veterans Marched Annual Jackson Christmas Parade - 1st Place last 2-years Valentines for Veterans, Humboldt, Tenn., Veterans Home Conducted 17 Color Guards for Home Football and Basketball Games - 2012 Marched Annual West Tennessee Strawberry Festival - approx 50 cadets

Drill Team – Best in the South 44+ Cadets Participating Won everywhere we went! 6 - Overall Championships 19 - 1st Place Trophies 7 - 2nd Place Trophies 4 - 3rd Place Trophies Drill Team began in 2009 Most are 1st or 2nd year cadets

Sports Day Teams 50+ Cadets Participating Participated at 10 Sport Day Competitions since 2009 23 - 1st Place Trophies 2 - 2nd Place Trophies 5 - 3rd Place Trophies Everywhere we go … people wanta know … who we are … so we tell them … we are North Side … mighty mighty North Side!
