2. The Zones of Survival Epipelagic Zone -very Shallow
-abundant with fish big or small
Mesopelagic Zone
-Also known as twilight zone
-Little light penetrates
-Goes down to 3,300
Bathypelagic Zone
-Also known as Midnight zone
-At depths of 20,000 feet
Abyssopeligic Zone
-At depths of 13,123 to 19,685 feet

3. Epipelagic Zone
This is ideal place for about 90 percent of all ocean life.
Sharks, mackerels, tuna, seals, jellyfish, sea lions, sea turtles, sting rays, and much more live in this area.
Some species have developed a camouflage called counter shading
Counter shading is when a specie’s skin is dark on the top of their bodies, and light on the bottom.
The shark is a example.

4. Creatures of the Twilight
This Zone is formally known as Mesopelagic Zone
The twilight zone has some animals including octopus, squid, and hatchet fish
The animals living in this zone must survive
-- cold temperatures
-- increased water pressure
-- dark water
Some fish has big eyes to help them see but there those that make there own light called bioluminescence.
A example of bioluminescence is the Hatcher fish

5. The creatures of Midnight
This zone is formally called the bathypelagic zone.
This Zone has a very intense water pressure
The fishes seen in this zone are vampire squid, giant squid, amphipod, slime stars, snake dragon fish, anglerfish, oarfish, gulper eel.
Only one percent of all ocean species live in this zone

6. Creatures of The Abyss This zone is formally Abyssopelagic Zone.
The creatures in this zone are Black swallower, tripod fish, deep-sea anglerfish, and the giant squid
Many abyssal creatures have underslung jaws to sift through the sand to catch food
Under slung mean to have a part projecting beyond the upper body.
