Tomorrow is a day to remember…. and well we should!
3
But there are also things we should remember today…. And everyday! Things God says ought to be remembered. This morning, let’s “make a list” of some things the N.T. tells us to remember. (in no particular order other than sequential in the text itself)
4
What does the N.T. tells us to remember? Matthew 5:23Remember: “that your brother has something against you” “first be reconciled to your brother” v.24 Luke 16:25Remember: Lost opportunities. Allow them to motivate you to better service. Luke 17:32Remember: Lot’s wife. Don’t allow the things of this life to cost you your soul.

What does the N.T. tells us to remember? Romans 11:17-18Remember: “that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you.” (also Acts 17:25ff) Ephesians 2:11-12 Remember: from where you have come. Therefore, “walk in a manner worthy” 4:1ff. 2Timothy 2:8 Remember: “Jesus Christ, risen from the dead….” 2Corinthians 4:10 > Hebrews 10:29

What does the N.T. tells us to remember? Hebrews 13:7Remember: “those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you” “considering… imitate their faith” 2Peter 3:2Remember: “words spoken beforehand…” They were meant to guide us. 2Peter 1:3 Revelation 2:5 Remember: “from where you have fallen and repent...” Don’t be a ustawuz!

Interestingly enough, I could only find one passage in all of the N.T. that says we should forget something: Philippians 3:13-14 “forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Paul spoke of forgetting his past sinful life, >which he could not change, just improve! >He could forget, because God did! Hebrews 8:12
