2 An Inventory of my Traits & Genetic conditions and their results 113-10 PROVIDE EXAMPLES OF GENETIC CONDITIONS THAT CANNOT BE CURED USING SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE AT THE PRESENT TIME

3 Genes  Chromosomes are ___________ ( a physical thing)  Genes are codes of information that can be found in DNA  Chromosomes are ___________ (like a book) and genes are ___________(like the story inside of a book)  Each gene is an instruction for something specific ___________  They are the reason why we look different and can do different things

4 Dominant and Recessive  For any particular gene, there will be a code from the mother and a code from the father  These codes can be dominant or recessive  Dominant: ___________  Recessive: ___________ if both parents give the recessive gene  Example: blue eyes are recessive. If both parents have blue eyes, then they only have the blue eye gene. They can only give the blue eye gene. Their offspring will have blue eyes
