Could not get money for war damages until they signed the act 2.Why did the US demand a long lease on its military and naval bases in the Philippines? To protect its economic and security interests in Asia 3.Why does the Philippine constitution restrict the president to a single term in office? To prevent the abuse of power that occurred during the 20-year rule of Ferdinand Marcos 4.What role did General Ne Win play in recent Burmese history? 4 Chapter 18 VIP Heads Take a sheet of plain white paper and fold it into 8 squares. Go through chapter 18 of your text book and find 8 VIPs In the middle, draw and color a bust In the top left corner write the VIP’s name and country In the top right corner create a speech bubble and write 2 sentences that illustrate why the person is a VIP Write your name, date, and period in the bottom right-hand corner on the back of the paper
