27 Upholstery Terminology Pull Down (also called a "Stretcher Cloth"): A strip of cloth sewed to the bottom of the inside arms and inside back in areas that don't show. 31 Creating the Patterns The measuring should take place at the stage where either the first or second stuffing has been completed Lay out paper or fabric on furniture frame, use pins Take off the paper or fabric. Label all details! Adjust the patterns, add the notches Cut out the details from chosen material Sew the cover

33 Creating the Pattern 1.Covering the couch with muslin pieces 2.Pinning sections together along seams 3.Using a wide cardboard template to mark for the added seam allowance 4.Cutting out the pattern, adding notches for proper alignment when sewing 5.Completed muslin pattern, pinned together 6.Completed prototype.
