3. What is the authors purpose? How does the author interest the reader? Who is the author writing for? Does the author assume the reader already knows something about the person?

4. What other assumptions does the author make about the reader? Do you believe the story would make a good film? Does the author offer advice to the reader? If yes, is appropriate and useful?

5. Do some of the suggestions make more sense than others? What other advice could the author have offered? Is there a quote from the book that you would want to add to your writer’s folder.
