How-to Revise Revising: Correcting big errors; improving form and content of the writing To revise correctly ask yourself the following questions: – What’s the main idea or point? – Who is reading this and why am I writing this? – Does my writing support the main idea? – Is it easy to understand? Are there any confusing sentences? Did I use all of the words correctly? – How are my grammar and spelling? – What is the best part? What is the worst part? Can I make improvements? 13. I was on my way home from the minimart. I walked as fast as I could because I was carrying a big tub of ice cream. The sun was shining and I did not want the ice cream to melt. I could not wait to eat it.

14. When I walked past an outdoor stage, I saw a group of teenagers performing. They were singing and dancing. I was so engrossed in their performance that I forgot about my ice cream completely.

15. When the show was over, I suddenly realized that I had been standing there for nearly an hour! I checked my ice cream. The tub was warm. The ice cream had melted!
