2. Introduction The Maritime Administration Department was specifically established to administer and regulate all matters pertaining to shipping, including the investigation of marine casualties. The investigation into marine casualties is done systemically through the use of legislative and administrative tools which are available to investigators. The objective of a Marine Safety Investigation is primarily to prevent marine casualties and marine incidents from occurring in the future.
