Where are we? System is live - 2 million articles in database - links being created Data Center up and running Critical Mass of Members- legal framework, fees, revenue coming in Broad-based linking is feasible –DOIs and Metadata lay the groundwork for more sophisticated linking (URLs don’t) –CrossRef is a vehicle for publishers to work with libraries and others

Update on Finances Start-up loans provided by 8 organizations –$1.2 million Accounting system in place Working with accounting firm Fees –Membership Fees billed –Deposit Fees through September 30th billed

2001 Budget/Annual Report 2001 Budget –information available when approved by Board –Draft Budget being discussed –$1.8 million in expenditure –Fee revenue projections/Cash flow projections Full audit will be done Annual Report with full audit will be available
