2. Use the power button Allows electricity to the computer This process is done after the computer has been shut down.

3. When a user types in his or her user name and password. This loads software and settings just for that user name. This is done when the computer has just been powered on, in sleep mode, or after someone else has logged off.

4. This is done when a user is finished using the computer. This closes open programs, exits the user’s username and settings. This prepares the computer for the next user.

5. This is done using the windows START button. This is done when the user is done with the computer for an extended period of time. This is not done using the power button. Pressing the power button while the computer is on will put it into SLEEP mode.

6. The computer is in an energy saving mode. This is done by closing the lid on a laptop or by selecting it from the START menu. This is done to have the computer ready for the same user but without closing programs.
