“Hot Stove” RULE 10-6-12 : The following acts constitute a foul when committed against a ball handler/dribbler: a.Placing two hands on the player. b.Placing an extended arm on the player. c.Placing and keeping a hand on the player. d.Contacting the player more than once with the same hand or alternating hands.
3
“Hot Stove” Tips We need to stay the course regarding contact on the ball handler. We must be consistent in our approach regarding Freedom of Movement. Players must be permitted to move freely on the court without being held, pushed, re-routed or impeded.
4
“Hot Stove” Tips This consistent approach will open up our game as basketball is not and was never intended to be a physical sport. Enforce the rules as written - no matter the score, time or players involved. Refresher: One Hot Stove Touch (on/off instantly) – Any other Hand, Leg, Arm Bar or Body Bump is illegal contact and must be called!
