4 Teaching Young Children (2 Timothy 3:14-15) But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, {15} and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

5 Why God punished Eli’s family 1 Samuel 3:13 1. The sons’ defiant disobedience 2. The father’s failure to restrain them Am I Pursuing what God asks of me in my family? (Ephesians 6:1-4) Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

6 We’re priests. We’re different! (1 Peter 2:9) … You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light (1 Peter 2:11)… Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. (1 Peter 2:2) Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk [OR: milk of the Word], so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

7 IS God speaking to Me? 1. Is it in harmony with God’s word? 2. Do godly people to whom I am accountable confirm what I sense God is saying? 3. Does it bring honor to God or does it mostly just benefit me?
