Call to Worship

“Victory in Jesus” I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory, How He gave His life on Calvary, to save a wretch like me; I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning, Then I repented of my sins and won the victory.

“Victory in Jesus” Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever! He sought me and bo’t me with His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him- He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

“Victory in Jesus” I heard about His healing, of His cleansing pow'r revealing, How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see; And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit," And somehow Jesus came and bro’t to me the victory.

“Victory in Jesus” Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever! He sought me and bo’t me with His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him- He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

“Victory in Jesus” I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory, And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea; About the angels singing and the old redemption story- And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory.

“Victory in Jesus” Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever! He sought me and bo’t me with His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him- He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins 2 in which you previously walked according to this worldly age, according to the ruler of the atmospheric domain, the spirit now working in the disobedient. 3 We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and by nature we were children under wrath, as the others were also.

4 But God, who is abundant in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, 5 made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. By grace you are saved! 6 He also raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavens, in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace in [His] kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are His creation— created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:1-10 (HCSB)

“SAVED AND SHAPED TO SERVE” Pastor Groover April 6, 2008

5 So, what is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, and each has the role the Lord has given. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 1 Corinthians 3:5-6 (HCSB)

I have glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do. John 17:4 (HCSB)

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT)

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God’s servants through whom you believed the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. 1 Corinthians 3:5 (NLT)

I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. John 17:4 (NLT)

God Saved You By Grace God Planned In Advance for us to do good things for Him after He saved us

Each of us are to do the work He gave us to do Like Jesus who completed the work the Father gave him to do we bring Glory to the Father here on earth.

Take my life and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee; Take my hands and let them move At the impulse of Thy love, At the impulse of Thy love. “Take My Life, and Let It Be Consecrated ”

Take my feet and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee; Take my voice and let me sing Always, only, for my King, Always, only, for my King. “Take My Life, and Let It Be Consecrated ”

Take my silver and my gold, Not a mite would I withhold; Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in ceaseless praise, Let them flow in ceaseless praise. “Take My Life, and Let It Be Consecrated ”

Take my will and make it Thine’ It shall be no longer mine; Take my heart, it is Thine own, It shall be Thy royal throne, It shall be Thy royal throne. “Take My Life, and Let It Be Consecrated ”
