2 Paul Thought He Was Right Acts 9:1-2 He sincerely believed he ought to persecute the followers of Jesus –Acts 23:1 –Acts 26:9-11 Paul did not believe Jesus was the Christ –1 Timothy 1:13

3 Meeting Jesus Changed His Mind Acts 9:3-6 –Acts 26:19 One must believe in order to be saved –John 8:24 –John 20:30-31

4 Meeting Jesus Caused Him to See Himself as a Sinner Acts 9:7-9 He recognized himself as a sinner to whom God would reveal his longsuffering nature –1 Timothy 1:15-16 Later, he made it plain all are in the same position –Romans 3:10, 23 –1 John 1:7-10

5 Paul Recognized the Inadequacy of the Church in the Wilderness He had heard Stephen call the children of Israel “the congregation” (church) in the wilderness –Acts 7:38 He came to see the importance of the Lord’s church –Matthew 16:18 –Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:4

6 Paul Saw He Must be Baptized to Wash Away His Sins Acts 9:10-18 Ananias was sent by the Lord to teach him Acts 22:16 Like the Lord and his disciples, Paul later taught the importance of the same Mark 16:16 Acts 2:38 Romans 6:3-10
