2. Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) FAIT  Trial comparing surgical and non- surgical approaches to treating FAI  Both surgical and non-surgical have been shown to improve FAI symptoms, however there is no evidence that either treatment can prevent the development of OA  The goal of FAIT it to determine the best practice for treating FAI and preventing the development of OA FAIM  As we have seen, FAI is an abnormal hip shape. Abnormal hip shapes can increase the risk of developing OA  This trial aims to find out what causes this hip shape to develop.  This may lead to finding new ways of preventing the development of OA http://www.ndorms.ox.ac.uk/clinicaltrials.php?t rial=fait http://www.ndorms.ox.ac.uk/clinicaltrials.php?t rial=faim

3.  MiniHip is a new kind of hip replacement that uses a highly- cross linked polyethylene (plastic) that has vitamin E  It is theorised that this kind of replacement will conserve the bone better and therefore the replacement will last longer (traditional hip replacement last about 10-15 years before needing revision)  The aim of this study is to follow up patients for 10 years at different intervals to see how their MiniHip replacement is progressing compared to a traditional replacement MiniHip
