The Decision Making Process The five steps are - State the situation. List all possible choices. Consider all the consequences. Make your decision and act on it. Evaluate your decision.

IV. CONSEQUENCES - YES A. How will you pay for the car? - You may have to work to pay for the car.

V. CONSEQUENCES - YES A. How will your school work be affected? You will have less time to study

VI. CONSEQUENCES - YES A. How will your leisure time be affected? You will have less leisure time.

VII. CONSEQUENCES - NO You will be able to save more money to buy a better car. You will have more money to spend on clothes, concerts, CDs and fun. You will have more leisure time.

IX. EVALUATION - YES If you buy the car, what factors would you use to evaluate your purchase?

X. EVALUATION -YES How well the car performs. How the purchase affected your lifestyle. Were there any “hidden costs?” Would you make the same decision? What would you do differently?

XI. EVALUATION - NO If you do not buy the car, what factors would you use to evaluate your decision?
