2. His Youth  James Patterson was born on March 22,1947 in Newburg, New York.  His parents names are Charles and Isabel Patterson.  He is 1 of 3 sons.

His books  James Pattersons's first book he wrote was The Thomas Berryman Number in 1976.  Some of his earliest novels he's written include: Season of the Machete, The Jericho Commandment,Virgin,Black Market,The Midnight Club and Sam's letters to Jennifer.  The series he has written so far are: Alex Cross,When the wind blows,Womens Murder Club,Maximum Ride, Daniel X and Witch and Wizard.

Awards and Achievements  James is s a two- time Childrens Choice Book award.  An "Author of the Year" nominee.  He has sold more books than any other author and has sold an estimate of more than 220 million copies worldwide.  James Patterson is the first author to have #1 new titles simultanously on The New York Times adult and childrens bestsellers list.  James holds the Guinness Wolrd record for most hardcover fiction bestselling titles by a single author, which is 63 titles in total.
