DFAS DFAS (Defense Finance and Accounting System) will be here at UMFK to explain their internship program and employment opportunities with DFAS cross the country. The date is Wednesday April 4 in the morning. (Probably 9 to 11 a.m.) Exact times and details will follow. This is primarily aimed at the business majors, but public admin and computer applications in business and e-commerce majors may be interested. The internships are fully paid by the Department of Defense, and is transferable to other DFAS sites around the country.

ETS testing All junior and senior business majors should take the ETS business major test. It will be offered free of charge on Wednesday April 18 in room NA 109 from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. Please cajole or intimidate your students into taking the test. In the future, this test must be taken prior to a student taking a capstone course. It will be a prerequisite for Bus 409, Bus 411, and Bus 430 in the new catalog. It will cost the students money to take this test in the future. Also, taking the test now will help us set a base line for our institution, and help us to get the program accredited. This should be a selling point for students since it will enhance the market value of their degree. Roger Roy

Peer Review for Case studies Put your name and your team members’ names in the spaces provided, one name at the top of each column. Names: Ratings: On time for all group meetings: Helped keep the group cohesive: Number of useful ideas contributed: Quantity of work done: Quality of work done: ++++ Add Total Scores Here: In rating yourself and your team members, use a one- to five-point scale, where 5 = superior, 4 = above average, 3 = average, 2 = below average, and 1 = really weak. Add the scores to obtain a total score for yourself and the other group members. Put any comments you like on the bottom or back of this page. Fold this sheet when you complete the ratings below. If you receive a poor rating on this evaluation, your final case average will be lowered one letter grade. A superior rating may add points to the final case average.
