Thermal Energy! By: Megan Kneib Paige Musser Brett Williams Lauren Edwards
2
What is it? Thermal Energy is generated and measured by the heat of any kind. It is caused by the increase of activity or velocity of molecules in a substance, which in turn causes the temp to rise accordingly. Thermal Energy is the flow of energy or a means of energy that is moving from one system or state to another. As the energy moves from one state to another a different temperature will occur.
3
Renewable or Nonrenewable Thermal energy coming from burning fossil fuels, bio fuels, ect. It is Non-renewable since we cannot get back the used fuels. Geo thermal carries heat through the core of the earth it is considered renewable because it is from the earth.
4
Thermal Energy Kinetic or not Thermal Energy is a form of Kinetic Energy produced form a random movement of molecules. It’s a system that can be increased or decreased.
5
Potential Energy Is stored energy; the energy an object has due to its position, molecular arrangement, or chemical composition. The higher an object is the more potential to fall. Example: Different heights of diving boards.
