4 Highlights. The scenario was a progressive Gas Deficit Emergency with multiple events over the two days. Day One. Stage 1 Declaration Formation of the Network Emergency Management Team Communication with participants and System Operators Emergency Interruption Stage 2 and Stage 3 Declaration and Communication Suspension of National Grid’s participation on the OCM as Residual Balancer NTS and LDZ VLDMC Firm Load shedding Day Two Highlights. Completion of remaining Stage 3 Actions Firm Load shedding of loads >25000 tpa NGSE Stage 4 Isolation. Distribution Networks Isolation Plans NGSE Stage 5 Restoration. NTS Restoration of Firm and Interruptible loads Distribution Networks Restoration Plans

6 Uniform Network Code Obligations Section Q – Emergencies Section defined as fulfilling two purposes Requirements to be complied with by Users Consequences of a Gas Supply Emergency in respect of application of the Code Requirements for users. User contacts Fax and Telephone Contact available 24hr / day as the primary user contact in a Gas Supply Emergency Must have appropriate authority and responsibility Site Contacts Large Firm Supply Points (AQ >25,000 therms) Interruptible Supply Points Power and Authority to comply with directions Contact details to be provided to xoserve for onward cascade to the relevant Transporters. User Emergency procedures User should ensure alignment with section Q and emergency procedures Relevant personnel are familiar with the Emergency Procedures

8 Prelude reporting. Whether the correct procedures were adhered to during the each stage. Whether the notification method was correct according to the procedures. Whether the information provided in any correspondence was legible and easy to understand. Whether there was any confusion over what actions were required. Whether or not there were enough people to implement the procedures required. If the equipment was suitable for the job – was there enough equipment. Ascertain the time taken to calculate the information required. Ascertain whether the speed of response from the parties involved was reasonable. If the Systems (including spreadsheets etc) were suitable for purpose.
