Lessons learnt for future and strategies Seed - Timely supply of quality seeds of appropriate varieties Increasing the number of Seed Testing Labs from 3 Nos. to 6 Nos. Strengthening of Seed Certification Agencies’ infrastructure. Installation of Seed Processing Plants Marketing and Processing- Infrastructure development Establishment of Krishak Bazaars Installation of Mini Dal Mills Farm Mechanization- Acceleration Electrification of rural tube wells. Giving benefit of subsidy for farm mechanization to farmers through direct transfer scheme.

Major Focus given by the State on different Inputs under NFSM Supply of Quality Seeds and other inputs in time. Application of micronutrients based on Soil Nutrient Map and Soil Test Report. Selection of site and beneficiary well ahead of the crop season Demonstrations organized to motivate the farming community with modern Resource conservation technologies / Tools / Efficient and judicious water application tools. Organization of FFS for dissemination of improved technologies and to select progressive contact farmer. Inter Cropping in the Plantation crops / orchards with pulses to increase area under Pulses Exploration of New / Non conventional areas for Area Expansion of Rice / Wheat / Pulses Emphasis on Training on Improved Technologies 10

Suggestions for increasing the efficacy of NFSM scheme Raising the rate of assistance in case of Rice - Wheat Cluster DCs from Rs. 12500/- to Rs. 16000/- per hac and in case of Pulse DCs from Rs. 5000/- per hac to Rs. 7500/-. Size of Cluster demonstrations may be reduced from 100 hac compact area to 50 hac compact area. Rate of Assistance for distribution of Hybrid Paddy seeds under subsidy may be increased from Rs. 2000/- per qtl to Rs. 5000/- per qtl. The Rate of Assistance for distribution of Pulse seeds under subsidy may be increased from Rs.1200/- per qtl to Rs. 5000/- per qtl. Raising the cropping system based training support to Rs. 20000/- per training from current rate of Rs. 14000/- per training. Raising the assistance amount of Pump sets from current rate of Rs. 10000/- per unit to Rs. 15000/- per unit.
