1 HomeStation Scenarios Schematic representations of KPN Telecom’s analog and ISDN network for equipment such as cordless or wire-bound fixed line telephones, faxes, answering machines, subscriber exchanges and cordless handsets

2 HomeStation General information:  Incoming GSM calls are diverted cost-free to your fixed line telephone  You can choose whether you want to call via your fixed network telephone or your GSM from your fixed line telephone  The GSM is continuously charged up  Supports the features of the KPN fixed line network  HomeStation only supports the following Siemens GSMs: C35i, S35i, M35i, C45, S45, ME45, SL42*, SL45* and future Siemens GSMs. The SL42 and SL45 do not fit in the charging unit but can be connected directly to the cable.

4 HomeStation connected to a fixed line telephone  HomeStation is not connected to the telephone socket  With the Gigaset, calls can only be made via the GSM network Scenario 2 Analoog

5 Integration of multiple mobile telephones and the same number of HomeStations  Siemens mobile telephones from C35 Scenario 3 Analoog

6 Need to cover larger distances? It’s possible with a longer standard telephone cable!  Cordless or wire-bound  Siemens, non-Siemens Scenario 4 Analoog

7 Add a fax?  Fax/telephone combination with the fixed line telephone  Separate connections are needed to connect the fax/telephone and the fixed line telephone Scenario 5 Analoog

8 HomeStation connected to a fixed line telephone  The fax is connected separately to the telephone network via its own KPN connection Scenario 6 Analoog

9 HomeStation connected to a fax/fixed line telephone combination  Incoming calls are only diverted to the fax/telephone. Outgoing GSM calls go only via the fax/telephone.  Incoming calls via the fixed line network can be answered at the fax/telephone and the fixed line telephone. Scenario 7 Analoog

10 HomeStation connected to a fixed line telephone  With integrated answering machine Scenario 8 Analoog

11 HomeStation connected to a fixed line telephone  Incoming calls are only diverted to the fixed line telephone. Outgoing GSM calls go only via the fixed line telephone.  Incoming calls via the fixed line network can be answered at the fax/telephone and the fixed line telephone. Scenario 9 Analoog

13 HomeStation connected to a fixed line telephone and an analog modem  Analog modem and a fixed line telephone combination  Separate connections are needed to connect an analog modem and the fixed line telephone  No modem communication is possible via the GSM Scenario 11 Analoog

14 HomeStation connected to a fixed line telephone  Incoming calls are diverted to the fixed line telephone only. Outgoing GSM calls go only via the fixed line telephone.  Incoming calls via the fixed line network can be answered at the answering machine and the fixed line telephone.  Incoming calls from the GSM cannot be answered at the answering machine. 15 HomeStation connected to a subscriber exchange  Incoming GSM calls are diverted to all equipment upstream of the HomeStation. Scenario 13 Analog

16 Scenario 14 HomeStation connected to a subscriber exchange  Incoming GSM calls will only be diverted to the fixed line telephone upstream of the HomeStation.  Incoming calls from the GSM cannot be answered at the answering machine. Analoog

17 Scenario 15 HomeStation connected to an ISDN subscriber exchange  Incoming GSM calls will only be diverted to the fixed line telephone upstream of the HomeStation.  Incoming calls from the GSM cannot be answered at the answering machine. ISDN Analoog

18 Scenario 16 HomeStation connected to an ISDN DECT subscriber exchange such as the Gigaset 4170isdn  Incoming GSM calls will only be diverted to the fixed line telephone upstream of the HomeStation. ISDN Analoog
