Changes in Cotton Production: A: The invention of the “flying shuttle” made weaving faster. B: The water –powered loom invented by Edmund Cartwright

The Coal and Iron Industries A:. The demand for coal for the steam engines led to an expansion in coal production. Using coal aided the transformation of the iron industry B: A process called puddling helped to produce a better quality iron. With this process the British iron industry boomed.

Railroads A: Were particularly important to the success of the Industrial Revolution. B: Building railroads created new jobs for farm laborers and peasants. This lead to the creation of larger markets, more factories, and more machinery.
