1. Heading 2. Greeting, 1. Body: Intro Paragraph: 3-4 sentences explaining your purpose for writing. The number of paragraphs can vary since it is a casual response. No space between the paragraphs but you do have to indent the text to let the reader know it is a new paragraph. In friendly letters, you can omit the address and just specify the date of the letter. As well you might use block format (spaces between paragraphs and no indentation).

* 3. Greeting * Dear Ms. Montalvo: (the use of a colon after the greeting is characteristic in business letters) * 4. Body: (1-3 paragraphs) * Introductory paragraph: 3 or 4 sentences explaining the purpose of your writting. * 2nd paragraph: you have to single space it and avoid indenting in business letter following the “block format,” this paragraph can include additional information about the purpose of writting in a lenght of 3-5 sentences

* Closing paragraph: 2-3 sentences summarizing the statements in the other paragraphs and also thanking the receipent for his/her time. * Closing and signature * (Sincerely, Respectfully, Truly Yours) * (Leave 3-4 spaces to sign) * Isidro Dávalos (Type your name)

Sincerely, respectfully) Example: Respectfully, Signature Typed Name.

* Your name needs to be typed beneath your signature * Possible closings include “sincerely”, and “respectfully.” * In a business letter one should include all the information of the recipient. * In a business letter the register should be formal.
