2
Friction Charging by frictions happens when electrons are “wiped” from one object to another. Conduction Charging by conduction happens when electrons move from one object to another by direct contact. Friction and Conduction
3
Charging by induction happens when charges in an uncharged metal object are rearranged without direct contact with a charged object. Induction
4
Conservation of charge Electrons simply move from one atom to another, which makes areas that have different charges, because charges are not created or destroyed, charge is said to be conserved. Detecting Charge An electroscope is a glass flask that has a metal rod in its rubber stopper. Two metal leaves are attached to the bottom of the rod. When the electroscope is not charged, the leaves hang straight down. When the electroscope is charged, the leaves repel each other, or spread apart. Conservation of Charge and Detecting Charge

What is an electroscope? a.A tube b.A flask c.A bowl with water d.A glass flask that has a metal rod in its rubber stopper. What is a example of friction a.Hitting a table b.Two magnets on top of each other c.Moving a chair d.Rubbing a balloon against your hair Conduction happens when electrons move from one object to another. True Induction happens when atoms jump from one side of the object to the other side. False What is the difference between conduction and induction? Questions
