Old Mill Indoor Track 2014-2015 …It’s Gonna Be Cold Out There

Coaches Villwock - Head Coach, Distance (800m-3200m) Klimes - Sprints (55m, 300-500m) Webster - Sprints (55m, 300-500m) Stephens - Pole Vault Liimatta - Hurdles, Throws (Shot Put) Johnson - Jumps (High, Long, Triple)

Practices Sprinters and Distance athletes will practice from 2:30-4:30p, every Monday- Friday, outside at the track. In the event of inclement weather, runners will practice inside the building. Jumpers, Vaulters, Hurdlers and Throwers will practice from 6:30-8:30p, Monday- Thursday, as instructed by the event coach.

Paperwork: Due to Villwock by November 14 th Required to try-out: Parent Permission Form (Purple) Physical* (White) Concussion Form (White) Emergency Card (Small, White) Contract (Orange) The Salmon Concussion information sheet is to be read and kept by the athlete *Athletes who tried out for/competed in a fall sport for Old Mill are exempt from turning in a new physical form

Tryouts When: November 17 th – 19 th, 2:30-4:30p Where: Bob Golliday Field What: Trials in the 100m, 400m, 800m, bounding and throwing. Why: All athletes will try out in all events to allow coaches to make the best decision about the team. Any athlete who fails to complete all 5 trials will not be considered for participation on the team.*

Selecting the Team We are keeping the best overall athletes. Athletes will be chosen based on their performance and effort in the trials. The coaches will select the athletes based on the needs of the team as dictated by the number of athletes needed to fill out the line-up for a meet. Only 45 athletes will travel to each meet.

Meet Events 55m, 55H, 300m, 500m (3 per event by gender) 4x200, 4x400 (4 members of relay team) 800m, 1600m, 3200m(3 per event by gender) 4x800 (4 members of relay team) Shot Put (3 per event by gender) Jumps (3 per event by gender) Vaults (3 per event by gender)

Getting Prepared If you show up on the 17 th without preparing for the trials you are not going to be successful. Begin stretching, running and hydrating NOW! On the 17 th you need to have sneakers, water and a good attitude.
