7. Police Crime Commissioners (TF) Approved on 15 th Sept 2011 through Police Reform & Social Responsibility Bill. Public will take to the polls to vote for one person to oversee policing, a Police Crime Commissioner First election on the 15th Nov 2012 To take office on the 22 nd Nov 2012 = Community having a greater say as to how their areas are policed and tackle community safety issues

8. The PCC will: Appoint the Chief Constable (CC) and hold them to account Set out a 5 year Crime and Police Plan in consultation with CC to reflect local priorities. Making community safety grants to other organisations (including but not limited to CSPs) Freedom to commission services Police and Crime panels – to scrutinise
