2. ßJohn Fuller & Chris Gaunt maintain a list of mailing lists for genealogy at h ttp://members.aol.com/gfsjohnf/gen_mail.html ßOnce at the site, click on surnames (screen shown below). ßThen click on the portion of the alphabet with the name you are looking for (CORLEY is CO-CQ).

3. Mailing lists ßThis will give you instructions on how to subscribe to (join) the mailing list ßUsually, email address are links. Click on the link to call up your email program. ßThe difference between mail and digest modes is whether messages are sent together or one at a time. It usually doesn’t matter unless the mailing list is very large. ßYou should look for other mailing lists, such as Surnames-USA

4. Mailing lists ßWhen you click on the email address given, your email screen pops up already addressed. You just type in the word(s) you were directed to send and click on Send. You are then subscribed.

5. Mailing lists ßI sent a message to the mailing list about my ancestor Daniel S. CORLEY and his wife Susan KARNES, explaining what I was looking for. ßI waited for replies to my message. ßI watched messages that others posted on the mailing list (as they came to my inbox) to see if I could help them. ßSee corleyemail.ppt for compilation of results.
