Welcome to Open House Concepts of Physics Mr. Kuffer

Physics offered at North Allegheny AP PhysicsHonors Physics Concepts of Physics

This course is intended for college bound students who are interested in a non- science career. Students will study the following topics: classical mechanics (motion, energy, gravitational concepts, etc…), waves, sound, light and optics, electromagnetism and current electricity. Although the class stresses concepts over computations, a basic understanding of Algebra and Geometry is required.

17 Classroom Procedures Arrive in class on time and prepared for class Tardies will result in detention Electronic Devices, THIS IS YOUR WARNING Bring required materials (i.e. Pencils, pens, Conceptual Physics text, notebooks, and scientific calculator) Participation is encouraged and required Cooperation will be critical during labs and certain assignments Follow along with lectures and take notes Hall Pass, 5 minute pass, you must inform me that you are in need of the pass, ONE AT A TIME NO FOOD… NO EXCEPTIONS.

18 Assignments Don’t be afraid to ask for help Be neat and legible Start homework in class if time is given Turn in assignments on time! Late assignments are worth ½ credit for each day late. MAKE-UP WORK IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT! Tests can be made up during study hall or by appointment. ABSENT???... Check the Website!!!
