A compound is a kind of matter made of a combination of two or more elements. Every compound has a formula that show how many atoms are of each element are in the compound. ( Water is H2O. ) Carbon does not burn. Properties of compounds.

An element can be present in more than one compound. Compounds are important for you body. Water is a compound. Other compounds make up much of your skin, bones, tendons, and ligaments. The Same Element in Different Compounds.

Salts are compounds made of particles held together by opposite charges. Most salts are made of two properties. Almost every salt is made up of at least one metal element, and non metal element. Salts can form crystals. Salts.
