The best relationships are those that have compatible personalities or common interests. Both the mentor and the mentee need to feel comfortable in the relationship.

“There is no teacher like the act of teaching” Zontians who are willing and able to spend time with a new member. Zontians with good inter-personal skills. Zontians who have a genuine interest in being a mentor. Zontians who are willing to commit to the program.

Monitor new member’s participation and attendance. Engage mentee at club meetings. Introduce new member to existing club members. Provide information about Zonta Advise mentee about committees and leadership positions. Encourage, support, listen and assist.

Find ways to a build strong and effective mentoring program. Make it enjoyable for the mentor and the mentee. Celebrate the program’s success. Remember, it’s not supposed to create stress.

Recruit the best mentors. Get commitment from the participants. Have the right match. Define what the program should achieve. Acknowledge successes.

Make the program important to the club. Provide the mentor with assistance. Monitor the program. Have an exit strategy. Promote the benefits of the program
