The Master Technology Teacher facilitates appropriate, research-based technology instruction by communicating and collaborating with educational stakeholders; mentoring, coaching, and consulting with colleagues; providing professional development opportunities for faculty; and making decisions based on converging evidence from research. COMPETENCY 10 The Master Technology Teacher knows how to provide professional development and support through mentoring, modeling, coaching, and consulting.

4. Coaching Use expertise to increase effectiveness through facilitating individual learning. Your goal is to facilitate others learning rather than teaching and providing answers. A coach is there to ask high impact questions. A coach will know what to ask and when to ask it to provide others with a deeper learning.

5. Consulting Usually an expert or professional in a specific field. Has a wide knowledge of subject manner. Focuses on: – Problem solving – Strategies – Actions plans – Accomplishing new specific goals A consultant provides a solution – Ex: exactly which road to take to get to a certain location.

6. Mentoring More of a teacher, giving advice and telling others what they need to have a deeper meaning. Involves a closer and more meaningful relationship. Task and goal is to guide the more inexperienced. There to help others work toward their goals – Immediate – Long term

7. Modeling Known as observational learning Type of learning that occurs as a function of: – Observing – Retaining – Replicating Behaviors executed by others The process is an internal process to improve others individual performance.
