Ethnicity Findings Hispanic students are significantly overrepresented in the Basic Skills population (40%) compared to their population in the overall credit population (32%) White Non-Hispanic students are underrepresented in the basic skills population (12%) compared to their proportion in the overall credit population (18%).

Of the 4,691 students who took at least one test, 2,845 (60.1%) placed into basic skills-level English; 1,252 ( 26.7%) placed into basic skills-level math; and 502 (10.7%) placed into basic skills-level ESL.
