Method of quarrying in L.S Quarry ► 1)Ripping. ► 2) Drilling and blasting. The two methods depending on the environment. But, Ripping: need long time and give small amount of rock. Drilling and blasting: need short time and give large amount of rock.

Blasting ► After drilling process we used ► Blasting We use dynamite + ANFO + Gelatene dynamite + ANFO + Gelatene Anfo : moderate effect Anfo : moderate effect Gelatene : High effect Gelatene : High effect ► Note We used both of them during blasting but we used Anfo with high amount than Gelatene.

Transporting After using blasting process theAfter using blasting process the machine transported the blasted L.s to crusher machine. Clay quarry Clay is Hydrous Al Silicate. ► ► We have two quarries of clay ► ► Clay 1 (rich with Alumina –dark in color ) ► ► Clay2 (rich with Silica –lighter in color ) ► ► Clay is the source of (Al-oxides & Si-oxides inlarge amount and Fe-oxides in small amount ) Stages of clay quarry ► ► 1) Removing the over burden layer ► ► 2) Ripping (because it is softer than L.s). ► ► 3) Transporting.
