Contribution to EU lines and directives on equal opportunities of people with disability in education, training and employment We tried to follow the wishes, needs, ambitions, opportunities and capacities of people with disability

Project starting points High unemployment level in the region Podravje High unemployment level of persons with disability Insufficient opportunities in the labour market Specific training, education and employment needs of some target groups (permanent professional and psychosocial support)

The project objectives enabling appropriate response to training needs of specific target groups assuring appropriate professional and psychosocial support for enabling users to acquire knowledge, skills and habits for stable employment identifying new market niches and workplaces with appropriate dimension of creativeness and initiative to facilitate social inclusion and integration of vulnerable groups better opportunities on labour market and in life

Main goals Development and testing of flexible vocational qualification measures International transfer of knowledge and best practice Two central points: Concept of education and training of users - promotion of handcraft Concept of education and further training of trainers

Target groups Educators, trainers, job coaches Unemployed persons with specific difficulties (mental health problems, learning problems, brain injuries) Young persons with disabilities Long-term unemployed College dropouts

Strengths Flexible, modular programme structure Diversified module contents can be adapted to individual interests and requirements Highly interesting topics (hand craft, ecology) Possibility to elaborate some contents into other existing programmes

Parallel with project activities new working places were developing in the framework of Employment centre Dlan, where with the contribution of experts new applied products were developed and produced Some products gained Slovenian certificate of native craft and applied art

With appropriate support and leading specific target groups can acquire knowledge, skills and habits that can assure them stable employment with appropriate dimension of creativeness and initiative
