The topic of this project is to determine the effect that technology has had on the way people interact with each other Our research analyzes the change in the number of relationships and the quality of relationships between people Focused on social technologies

This is an important issue because people’s lives are more dependent on technology than ever before Less and less of social interactions occur face-to- face Technology is only going to become a more significant aspect of our lives Important to see the effect today to understand the potential effect tomorrow

To determine the frequency with which students use social media, and the effect of these technologies on social norms Paid particular attention to online dating and relationships Seeing the effects today allows for a more accurate prediction of the situation in the future Develop ways to minimize downsides and maximize benefits of technology

Began by gathering relevant resources using Diigo, and highlighting important points Created and conducted a student survey to determine how often students use social media, and what they thought was acceptable conduct Combined primary and secondary research to develop a sense of how students and adults felt that technology impacted their lives Analyzed this data and inputted results into this presentation

Social norms and relationships are changing for the better as a result of technology It is easier to meet new people and communicate regularly than ever before Survey results show that the majority of students use social media, so it is important to learn proper etiquette online There are negative aspects, but these are far outweighed by the benefits

Computer studies teachers should teach students proper web etiquette Students should use social media for educational purposes as well

Will the behaviors in our society change drastically in the future due to technology? Will the changes negatively or positively affect our society? Think of possible ways that the use technology can further change the way we behave in society and how that will affect the society as well as individuals.
